    Default DIY quarantine tank

Started working on my quarantine tank i need so bad. I bought a 36g bow front for cheap, cleaned it up and water tested it. I had the internal hob filter from a fluval accent aquarium in my spare parts bin.lol I thouhgt it would make for a great all in one quarantine set up. To put the filter where i wanted it i had to cut out the center plastic brace. I will be replacing it with 2 new braces, one on either side of the filter. I have a basic black stand to put it on and. A 250w metal halid light too use untill I buy a black box led light for it. I also have an 18w uv light attached to a power head I will be running as well.20181011_114949.jpg

Dont worry I'll have pics of the new bracing. The original was just the flimsy plastic the top trim is made of. I was thinking 2 strips of acrylic glued to the trim on either side of the filter or 2 strips of glass on either side of the filter, I haven't made up my mind yet. I Also have thoughts on modifying the filter to incorporate the uv light and heater inside of it.

Going a different rout with this tank. My oldest son wants to down size to make some room in his room so he will be using this tank. I'm still deciding if I should use glass or acrylic for the new bracing on top. Im leani g towards using acrylic on both sides of the new filter to replace the center brace I cut out of it. I would like to get it done tomorrow or tuesday. We will see.

I had an old broken 10g, i pulled the trim off of it and doubled it up to look like it was made this way. That way it can still hold lids, 3 separate lids.
