    Very late to the topic, but a method I found very simple is: Soak the pot for 3 days in water, fill it with sand apply an outward pressure (helps prevent cracking I found), then I use a hole saw (I typically use 1 or 1/2 inch) to slowly drill into the pot (letting the drill do the work) while having a little bit of water run over the pot to act as a lubricant and coolant. This creates a nice clean hole that you can simply sand down a little bit, and wall-ah, catfish home!

    Get a glass hole saw off amazon. Pretty cheap and works great on pots
