    Default My 1st salt tank

    heres my 1st salt tank. its a 40 breeder with a 250w MH with 2 blue pc lights and 4 moonlights. its got a sea clone 100 skimmer and a HOB refugium.

    It looks like you're off to a good start. I bet that light will warm the room in the winter.

    What's with the sticker on the lower right? Is it on the glass? If so, is it hiding a scratch, blemish, or something really ugly?

    not hiding anything, just stuck it on there. i already burned myself on the light. lol

    Ugh oh might want to remove,that sticker. Thats the breakoff site from this one when all hell broke loose

    Looking good if you can raise the fixture a bit. You will have better coverage and not worry about burning corals that are closer to the surface. Was that dead rock? Should had done a fishless cycle if so. Just throw a raw shrimp in it

    250w on a 40b is overkill and not really needed, you will actually end up burning and bleaching corals with it. Try getting a 150w instead or do T5s, you will get better results. Ditch that seaclone, they are crap.

    Wait is that 2x 250w mh on it?
    Google will weed out the stupid questions... ask the serious ones here.
