Saved as much water as I could & kept all the media/substrate wet. Don't recall fasting any of the fish but everything turned out fine. Moved the fish in buckets with portable air stones. An ice chest would keep the water temp more stable. Probably did more water changes afterwards until all was stable again. Good luck.

bristlenosedude that is great news. Now I won't be quite so worried to set it up some time.

Good luck finding some. The cheapest I found was Flourite at Petsmart in Plano for $18.99 15 lb bag.

Thanks. It was in a hoarder house in the garage under a bunch of stuff, so I don't think it was in the sun. Saw it at a their garage sale a couple years ago. Apparently it didn't sell because they trashed a bunch of stuff a couple weeks ago with it in the pile. Have seen them haul away several truck loads of stuff in the last year or so. Have found aquariums in the alleys several times over the years.

Someone threw out an Oceanic 20 gallon tank with supplies, never used as everything was still in package/sticker still on tank. My concern is what the heat/cold in a garage has done to the silicone integrity. I did put water in it for a couple of days without issue but probably should test it longer? It is cool to see the plastic plants in their original packaging, gang valve is brass, & the decorations are ceramic.

Only place I found CFL in Daylight K was Home Depot. Unfortunately the bulbs were too big to fit into my fixtures. Can still use them over the plants I bring inside for the winter. Will end up ordering the small LED bulbs for my 10 gallon fixture. Got my 20 long set up on the desk area in the kitchen with Flourite.

Thank you but that would be one heck of a drive, LOL. Not in a hurry. Checked DNA today but their stock was really low since they had them at half price & what was left wasn't on my list.

Going to try my hand at a low light planted 10-15 gallon size aquarium, no CO2. So if anyone wants to sell some clippings in the Plano area please let me know. Thanks.

Hey Michael--thanks & hope all is well with you. Will check out the links & see if I can find any bulbs. Once I get comfortable with it all will try to set up the 20 gallon & move the 10 gallon to a different spot. mscotty12321---thanks. May end up having to get some of those & glad to know they work well for you.

It has been many years since I've had an aquarium set up. Still have my ponds but thought maybe I'd try my hand at a planted tank. Lighting fixtures have changed a lot with LED taking place at the top of the list apparently. Have done some reading but not sure what to start planning out for a lighting fixture. I set up my 10 gallon tank with gravel & will eventually switch to a recommended soil. My light fixture is the old style with screw...
