I have the exact opposite problem. Even during the summer, the water here is still too cold, so I let it sit overnight to warm up to room temp.

These pots are very low fired, so they are more brittle. You can use sand paper on the opening to smooth the edges and it might help if you soak the pot in water before you drill it. That could help with cracking and/or chipping.

I love them too. I got the electric blue wide fin pearlscale marbles and I like the fact that you don't need an extra tall tank like you do for the others. Plus, these guys are wicked fast compared to other angels. They are, by far, my favorite.

Their specials usually last a month, give or take, or until they run out of the free fish. Check back with them every day or so because they raise their own fry and offer them up for sale between 5 and 8 weeks of age.

Hey guys! I just thought I'd let you know about a deal from angelmania. If you order $65 worth of fish and or food, they will send you 3 beautiful koi angels free. If you pay by check or money order, you'll also get free shipping. I ordered from them 18 months ago and I've never had any problems with any of my blue angels. They're a top notch company.

Ok, guys. I know it's been about 6 months since I started this thread, but I wanted to remind you, or if you're new on here, to close those threads if you're done with them. Also, if you still have things to sell, give away or are looking for, give your thread a "bump" to refresh it. Thanks!

plant lady replied to a thread PVC vs CPVC in DIY
Thanks, UncleSamsPuppet. The only reason I got the CPVC was that it was the only kind that came in the diameter I needed for my diy spray bar. I got all the fittings in the same area so they all fit and I'm not using any glue so that won't be a problem. I just wanted to make sure that nothing weird would leach out of the plastic. Thanks again, everyone!

I know that a lot of people use PVC for their diy projects, but can I use CPVC for the same things. I know the plastic is different, but I'm hoping it won't harm anything in the tank.

All the eggs must be gone for now, everybody went back to normal. I have enough angels in the tank that the aggression was spread around and none got hurt. There's still a little mouthing going on, but not one bite or torn fin. I think it makes a difference that all of these guys grew up together. When I got them, they were about the size of a nickel.

I wasn't worried about the sponge getting clogged because the power head is behind a poret foam filter. I had tossed around the spray bar idea, but I guess I was just being lazy! I guess it's time to go back to Lowes!

I tried a sponge, I'm guessing the pores were too large. It didn't change anything. Then I tried a purigen bag with it, still no change. I guess I need a sponge with smaller pores. If anyone has prior knowledge of any type of sponge or where to purchase, please let me know.

One thing a lot of people don't realize is that all plants need all their needs met before they'll bloom. So a blooming plant is a happy, healthy plant!

I've got a power head in a 29g that's putting out too much water. I've tried to put a couple of things on the intake, but they didn't do the trick. Do I try something else on the intake or can I put something on the output. I've heard that it could harm the motor if I put it on the output. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

plant lady replied to a thread Angelfish behavior. in Angels
My problem is that my tank is severely overgrown and it wasn't until I started clipping plants that I realized that I evidently have 6 fish that have paired off and decided to lay eggs with in a 2 day period. I can't see the eggs because of the plants and I can't clip anymore plants because they do better if they can't see each other. I thought that if the 3 pairs come back out, then I'll know that they've lost the eggs. I have 4 semi-young bn...

I know that while a pair have eggs they will be territorial, but will they go back to "normal" behavior if another fish eats the eggs?

Place the tank on it's side, place paper towels on the area to be cleaned and keep it wet with white vinegar from a spray bottle. Spraying is much faster and easier. If paper towels dry out too fast, you could always use several layers of non glossy newspaper.

If you can find the feature where only one tank can be pulled out at a time, like on some of the large filing cabinets, that would be great. The other thing would be that if the tank "shelf" can't lock in place, make sure the whole stand is tilted back toward the back wall slightly, to keep the tanks from sliding out on their own, from gravity. I would make sure that the sliders would hold at least 30 - 50 lbs more than the 111 lbs of just...
