good news I just noticed that some of the baby fish that I thought were guppies that I had moved to my 100 gallon were in fact sailfins so they got moved back so I have 3 more males and 2 more females than I thought. I don't want to part with any females yet but I can part with one of the young males. The ones with stripes that I mentioned were actually the males they mostly lose their stripes and gain their color as they age

I changed my feeding schedule after my bichir died and pulled every decoration that might trap any of my other bichirs so it wouldn't happen again

I'm sorry for your multiple losses I've lost a beloved dog after 11 years and recently lost my favorite bichir to a hole in an ornament that was big enough for her head and 1 fin but not her fat belly unfortunately since bichirs must surface she drowned overnight

I'm still waiting on fry from this trio but as soon as I have some I'll happily give you a female one warning though they do get large according to seriously fishy the females can supposedly get 7" this trio is actually young even though they are bigger than my other mollies. But the good thing is they can breed with any molly in fact most mollies you find are a hybrid of atleast 2 of the 3 species of mollies. The only thing I will request is if...

Believe it or not the mollies in the predator I really do love them and they get the best diet because they get bloodworms, brine shrimp, and even some tilapia on top of their flakes. Also the mollies in that tank are an assortment of colors and patterns I have a black male I named shaft because of his color and he had 5 females to himself. I also have dalmation, white, silver and some young ones that are silver with light black stripes that...

well I know you said you wouldn't give them away as feeders but what I do is I have several that breed in a well fed large predator tank that has plenty of moss to hide in so rarely do I lose any that have made it past .75" and have only lost 1 over an 1.5" and that was to a new fish that happened to arrive on a day I break from feeding the predators so they don't get bloat. Now that she knows there is easier food that drops from the sky she is...

I understand they need water in them its just my magnum 350 only needs 50% of the canister full to start and it is easy to work the air out by starting and stopping a couple times where as my fluval 405 has to be 100% full for water to even reach the pump. BTW thank you for helping me understand this I really do appreciate you sharing your experience and opinions

ok I can definitely see why pulling is better than pushing as far as not clogging my main concern is difficulty with priming since which admittedly is the problem with my fluval but that one pulls not pushes my water

a bottom pump is actually something I like about my magnum 350 over my fluval 405 because it is easier to restart after maintenance. The other day it took me 3 hours to get my fluval to prime before I figured out what I had to do was fill my tank so the waterline was above the output let it prime and run then lower the water level so my snails can lay their eggs. But I will admit I don't have that much experience with canisters why do you think...
