Got in the tank - 200 gallon, youtube vidoes said it should hold my weight. Found the leak first hand. Slit in the black silicon.

Thanks guys!!! I'm debating what I want to do with the system. I might just get rid of it because I don't like that I have an aquarium that I can't manage with two people when something bad happens. That said you have developed my confidence after watching DIY kings videos, and others so I'm going to stew on this for awhile based on what I can get a smaller aquarium for whether this is even worth my time or not.

The challenge will be for me properly resealing a 200 gallon, and not breaking any of the heavy glass. Maybe i need to special commercialized clamps or something... IDL. I was hoping a member with experience would be able to help me do it together to maximize the chance of success.

In general thin very neat black silicon around the whole tank seals, however it looks like original owner put globs of clear silicon in back right and left corners of tank. Not nearly as neat as the thin black strips.

Check out the 52 weeks BRS videos. You will learn a lot about the saltwater hobby. If i could i would go back to just cichilds. I'm just into deep with the saltwater hobby to turn back now. Also watch the DIY king, he's starting fish only saltwater right now. Hopefully he'll give some insight on how to save money. Invest in a good heater controller.

Took pictures this weekend, and tested the leak in the tank with water - and did clean up. I'll mark-up the pictures and maybe make a quick youtube video to show you in the next day or two

That's awesome!! i like where this is going. I got sick so i haven't tested where my leak is, but I'll get to it for this weekend for sure!! I'm sure it's just bad old silicon. The tank is like 1/2 in glass.
