It has been asked if I can prepare the cut pieces for end user assembly or if I can do the assembly myself. I can prepare the materials for end user assembly if you are looking to save some costs, however my intent is to do all the assembly on my end to control the quality of the build. The assembly cost is dependent on the thicknesses and sizes of the aquariums/sumps/accessories to be built as well as the complexity of the build. If...

I also want to add custom engraving is also an option to these acrylic accessories or inserts if that is something that you would desire. The attached image shows a recent project i did for HOTH for a convention at our annual comic con fan expo right here in dallas, these guys will vouch for the quality of my work any day of the week. These are custom engraved 1/2" acrylic panels that our client then mounted to a custom built stand with edge...

There are pros and cons to both materials i dont deny that, the workability of acrylic however is extremely useful for very custom applications like with sumps/refugiums and other custom builds.

SilverNautilus started a thread Big score in Tank Setups
Just scored this 55 gallon long for free on facebook marketplace! Came with canopy and lights, cant beat that... 35minute drive kinda sucked... Anyway, looks as though the water may have been a bit hard where they live as there was some serious calcium build up, any advice on removing this without harsh chemicals? I sprayed on some vinegar to no avail... I think i will be using this as a large breed growout tank / quarantine. Just need to...

That can be tricky since the acrylic in general is quite soft in comparison to glass. You may not like this answer but my solution has been prevention. Setting up an algae culture/scrubber either in the main tank or even in the sump is one solution as the culture will out compete any algae that may be free floating in the rest of the system (see king of diy algae scrubber on YouTube). Its also important that you keep your lights on a...

I work as a cnc operator and assembly specialist amongst many other hats I wear at my shop but I never really thought to consider the possibility of building custom tanks or sumps for others.. I just wanted to put this out there as a feeler to see if anyone would be interested in a service like this. We do stock cell-cast and extruded acrylic products in gloss clear, matte clear, black and white. All seams would be welded and not silicone...
