When you talk to the Park Ranger, ask him if they might consider talking to the Dallas Aquarium. (Not DNA) I know they have taken some fish that should not have been in a privately owned tank, or fish that are just way to big for the owners to keep. They used to take the arowana that got to big for fish keepers. They ended up with so many of them though that they had to stop taking them. Just a thought... I would rather see them at a...

Wow... Impressive find, even if you could not keep them long. The Parks and Wildlife guys don't mess around. In Oklahoma City I knew a guy that owned an LFS and someone brought in a Piranha because they had bought it and could not take care of it. He put it in a big tank, alone, and put a big not for sale sign on it. He had it for about a year before someone from P&W heard about it and showed up. They almost took him to jail and only a...

Well they call it a 7 gallon tank but it only holds 6.8 gallons. :) I have a small laptop to the right of the tank and it is just taller than the laptop. I put some rocks in it today and just about overflowed my desk. My hand and the rock took up all the "spare" room in the tank. Tomorrow I am going to drain some water out, put in my spider wood, and then re-arrange the rocks. I may also put the plants in as well. Tim

Slowly... I have water in the tank with some ammonia to kick off the cycle. There is sand on the bottom of the tank, rocks and some plastic plants. I also have filter floss in the sump and tomorrow when the mesh bag is delivered I will also have about 8 gallons worth of bio-balls. I also have some drift wood soaking in a 20 gallon tank. I was happy when the big piece fit in the tank. I was worried that I did not have anything big...

Can anyone up around the Frisco area help me out with some filter floss or something to seed my tank with. I know I can just wait but it sure would be nice to be able to cut a few weeks out of the cycle. Tim

So I have been thinking about doing a planted tank when I set my 150 tall back up. A 150 tall is 48" wide, 24" deep (front to back) and 30" tall so it is a TALL tank. The sump is currently a 60 gallon tank with no baffles in it. (I took them out to redo them, and to pull them from being set up for saltwater.) This is a tank that I used to run as a salt water reef tank so I have some good lights on it but wanted to make sure that they...

Hi Guys, I was on here a while back... (Like 10 years ago) and was just setting up a tank or two. Then I got into Saltwater. This was before FishBox had much going on saltwater, so I went and ended up hanging out at DFW MAS for a while. So in that time I have had my 55 gallon running with Cichlids and I also bought a 150 tall that I was running Saltwater. The saltwater tank was so much maintenance that I let the 55 gallon go away and stuck...
