biggin replied to a thread In need of frogbit in Aquarium Plants
There is something very satisfying about thinking about the poor person having to count all the frogbit I have thrown into the garden in my life..

I have had good luck with it and plecos. Pretty sure I have about 60% of a large bag of meat and same for veggies. I could give a sample as well.

"Community puffer"... yeah.. that is really a fish by fish basis. They need a lot of snails to keep the beak growth down. I believe FG and DNA have brought them in a few times, I am sure others have as well. They will most likely be sorta seasonal, it seems like they show up for a month or 2 and disappear again.

And now I am going to bend my skewers that I have.. I really like that idea. I buy stainless steel skewers at walmart every fall when the BBQ stuff goes on sale. They don't tend to rust and normally weight down the items.. this is a good idea IMO but I think I can modify what I already have.

THere are a lot of different types of media, bio balls and sponges are fine. If you already have them whey do you want to change it up? or Are you asking just to learn? Either is fine.. What type of filtration are you looking for? These bricks are newer to the scene.. I really like them in concept.. sadly I have something else but if I were starting over I would be looking for something like this:...

Safe is the powder form of Prime. It is like Prime on steroids. (cheaper too) Just curious if you have looked into any health implications in using it.. I know it says not to use it with fish for human consumption. I have always assumed that this was a precautionary label but more curious if you have looked into it or thought about it?

Nice setup. Interesting idea. This is something I have wanted to do.. Do you plan to grow plants for consumption? If so do you use Prime?
