biggin replied to a thread New tank plumbing in Tank Setups
If you want an auto drip system I would 100% have a sump.. Having the plumbing there is great. You don't need a lot out of your sump, but it is much easier to control the autotop off.

There isn't anything easier than breeding shell dwellers.. shells, water, sand = babies. You barely need fish..

The Ornate will eat that albino (Senegal) one day. I will try to post pics of my Fire Eel.. it is ~3 feet long and as thick as a coke can. Also have a MBU puffer on the monster front.

biggin replied to a thread Co2 fill ups in Aquarium Plants
A couple things.. for a full fill you want an exchange. There is a place on Mill Street in Lewisville that does it. I think you can give them your bottle and they will fill it but you have to wait a couple days or do an exchange. A lot of home depots do exchanges for 5,10,15 and 20 lb.

You are not the only one. I am really sad when I have to check the site's facebook page. I like to think we are mily active, and the people who come here are more into the hobby vs. FB where people just get on because it is there. People who come here tend to leave quick or stay for a while and give good information.

I am looking for a 100g tank or something close... 60x18x20.. Anything 60 long, 18-20 tall or wide. I can't do a full 24 wide. Can be scratched or whatever, no leakers or tanks that have been resealed. Going to turn it into a sump.

biggin replied to a thread New Stand Concern in Tank Setups
I think the issue is over time with tanks that are not level or if it is not level front to back and right to left creating a twist in the tank/stand. There are people who believe over time this will cause small leaks especially in larger tanks. In some instances it has caused cracked tanks.

biggin replied to a thread New Stand Concern in Tank Setups
Is it level? That would be my biggest concern.. if the 4 corners are level.. I have seen this type of deal left as is.. The stand should be level and the tank level on the stand. (2 different measurements)

Normally tempered tanks will have a sticker.. now people can remove that.. but 55g are pretty common to not have tempered.

I would think you could use a simple wooden pin could be used to hold the slides in place. I would think you could do this.. look for some 150lb rated slides.. but I would stick to 1 10g per pull. .

Glasscages.com is an option.. not a recommendation.. Most of the LFS have options on who to order from. Planet is local to Dallas but you have to go through a LFS. Why the specific footprint?
