I was about to order a Marina breeder box, just thought I see if anyone had a large laying around before I bought new.

Tugg, I use one where u put the female in one side where there is a slit in the bottom and you put a air pump on the box and when she spits out the fry the pump pulls the babies through the slit and though a tube into a separate box where the female can't get to them.

Here is a link from Pet Solutions http://www.petsolutions.com/C/Fish-Breeding/I/Aqua-Nursery.aspx.

I did have one but sold it. If you haven't had one before these are pretty nice.

I may be wrong but they might be cheaper at Ken's Fish, Tugg.

Robert, they are cheaper at Kens but you need to buy more for free shipping.

I thought breeder boxes stress the mom and causes smaller spawns

grant, if you have that one, PM me a price to take it off your hands. Otherwise, I've always got $35 worth of stuff on my wish-list at Amazon.

See:

Osmocote 2lbs

Azomite Rock Dust

Total: $36.19

In any case, it will be for shrimp. I want to make sure my females get knocked up by Luiz's males, and his females only get with my better looking males. It will also make culling easier since it will be a place to isolate a shrimp and get a good look at them.

I also want it as a holding tank. It would be easier to scoop the little bastards the night before a drop off and then I can easily bag them in the morning.

rmalford, thanks for the Kens link, but cardude is right about the free shipping. The $2 isn't worth the hassle of a group buy to me. Thanks though.

ok. I also have some of these breeder nets from kensfish. Maybe useful for breeding also. These are new still in the box. I'll PM later when I confirm.

No thanks on the nets. They're flimsy and fall apart. I'd just be interested in the plastic external one.

The pet smart near me had the medium size on sale for 7.99 I think. Will check again and let you know

Score! I ended up ordering the stuff I listed and then also just picked up grant's (Thanks grant). So I'll have two hanging off the sides of 10g tanks. I'm going to treat them like little 1/2 gallon pico tanks for shrimp.... pico tanks that each have a 10g sump. :hehe:
