This is my young nano. It was home to a mantis shrimp for a couple years, now im going down the coral road. Got a few young colonies of zoa's and polyps, not much else. If anyone has any frags of mushrooms or other basic care corals im interested! Not real happy with it right now, but its a work in progress. It also has the refugium mod, with the back coating scraped off in the back with a magnet LED. Growing a nice ball of macro algea.

This was several months ago before I started on corals, right after the mantis died. Now thats an aiptasia outbreak lol. I bought 4 Berghia Nudibranchs and about 6 weeks later there was not one single aiptasia.

RIP Kimbo

Looks cool. I like the rockwork....and we really like our lawnmower blenny! He's quite a character. Get ready for the ride! :)

Thanks all. Its a work in progress for sure. All this stuff will probly end up in a bigger reef system sooner than later. Been in the works for awhile. I like to do it all at once so one day a new 100g+ reef might pop up :hehe:

Yea those berghia made short work of them. When I first put them I didnt see them for weeks. Started with 4 then one day I had like 15! They completely clean the tank of aiptasia. None can hide. Bad thing is when all the aips are gone, the berghia die.

That's awesome! I love the pics. I'm off to google what Berghia Nudibranchs are - haven't heard of those!

LOVE the mantis. If you want some shrooms and softies you're more than welcome to hit me up. If you're up for the drive I'm more than sure we can work something out.

Just ask Mwil

Love the rock with all the zoas on it. Like that your tank has lots of coralline algae, too. Aiptasia don't bother me at all. They're part of the reef system, and I have had blooms of a half-dozen of them, and then they die all back, only to come back again, one or several at a time. Lots of corals are more aggressive than aiptasia and can take them out. I have a torch coral that obliterates everything in a wide arc around its spot. I have some Xenia, too, that grow so prolifically that they choke out aiptasia and grow right over the rocks where they once lived. Don't get caught up on aiptastia battles. Like everything on the reef, balance will prevail.
