I have been having problems with my 30 gal. I think that I might have gotten the fungus or whatever it was killing my fish. But, now I have some that are missing some parts of their fins. Do they regrow their fins? I don't want them to die. What do I do. In the past if my fish got sick and lost their fins it always ended in death. Any help is appreciated.

Mine always have, sometimes a little wonky but still usable. I've heard that if they're gone down to the "guick" or body of the fish, that sometimes they won't regrow. I've never had that happen so I don't know for sure.

Hope things look better for you!

i've had a yellow lab ciclid who got his tail eaten to the nub.....and it grew back.....I added aquarium salt to the tank during waterchanges.

Yeah, you'll need to research and treat for "Fin Rot".

Here's (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=t&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4SUNA_enUS236US236&q=Fin+Rot+cures) a simple Google search on the subject.

I hope that gets you going in the right direction :D.

I have already treated the tank and I think that everything is okay. In addition to treating I turned the heat up on them. I have some little tetras that are missing almost all of their tail fin. They are eating and swimming normal so I guess that they will make it. It could be that the male beta has gotten to them. But, I am not sure....He likes to chase them all.

I'd get rid of the beta- not right to let a single fish terrorize the whole tank. Read up on how to properly treat them and get the fins back under control. Could be as simple as some Melafix and some stepped up water changes.
