Would it be ok to add a female ( or two) Carpenters to a tank that already has a male in it ?

dont see why not, but if a pair is formed you will most likely witness some aggression. although i dont think anyone has had any success breeding them in captivity, thats why most only get males cause they are nicer.

You might get away with 1 female but I wouldn't add two. Wrasses are very aggressive towards each other.

Those types of wrasses usually don't fight with each other. I've kept harems of Carpenters before with no issue. It really depends on the size of the aquarium also.

i have a formosa and red coris wrasse housed together and they do fine with eachother. never fight.
