What a day!

After completing "normal" duties and running a few errands, this is what I did.

Removed the 10 rainbows that I had in the 100 gal (cycling) and moved them to the 30.

Did a 50% wc on the 100.

Removed all of the decor from the 55 and drained about 50%.

Moved 10 Discus from the 55 to the 100.

Finished the wc on the 55 for a total of a 75% wc.

Removed the decor from the 30, gave it a light "wash". Put the black slate and plants in the 55.

Moved approx 30 asst fish from the 30 to the 55.

Tomorrow, I will:

Move the big angel, raphael, pleco and pictus to the 55.

Attempt to remove all the sand from the 30 and put it in the 55.

Move the two discus that have paired up into the 30.

<cough>bullshit<cough>

Yeah, uh huh! I'm goona do that tomorrow! Sounds like a groovy weekend project!

Settle down, Shayman!

Yep, having fishies takes a lot of work. Michelle, since you seem to be on a roll, come over and take care of mine when you're done with yours!

This has been a project that I've been gearing up for. The new Discus tank is bare. Hope to find some LARGE and smooth driftwood to attach a few plants to. That's all that will go in that tank. A bare tank is something I'm not used to...but, with I have to feed the smaller Discus quite a bit and they are all poopin machines! I think with the driftwood, a little green from a few plants, decent lighting and GORGEOUS fish... it will be spectacular.

SS, it all still need some tweaking. But, so far... it's ALL good!

Did yawl see that DIY project that MikeC did where he put some tile on the bottom of a BB tank?

Yeah, I thought it looked great!

You plannin' on trying that, or just going straight BB?

For now I THINK I am going to stick with BB. A. The tank is already occupied. B. If I do add anything to the bottom, it will be a light colored sand of some sort. The Discus really like the sand! The blow in it and eat it!

But, for now I'm going to stick with BB. I'll be getting a coupl large river rocks and large driftwood to attach plants to.

I loved the look of the slate but, I think with my black background it would be too dark and the fish would darken.

You could alwasy look for a light colored tile, but like you said if the tank is already occupied, BB would be the way to go.

I'm definitely interested in seeing this setup once you have it going ;).
