In a desperate effort to rid one of my 10g tank of snails, I removed all the gravel and boiled it in a covered pot for two hours, stirring occasionally. At the end of two hours, I turned off the burner and let it cool down. While that was happening, I washed out the tank and the filter. The next day I rinsed the gravel and put it back in the tank. I was snail free for about 10 days. Tonight my tank is full of snails whose shells are no longer red, but are blackened.

I hate snails!

I also feel guilty that they didn't die, but were probably burned.

I will gladly take all snails that anyone has, they will all be dead within an hour.

It'll be a while but I have no less than 75 egg patches in my 10g and maybe 5 in my 20g. If you know of a way to get them to growing fast, I can give you all you want.
The patches just showed up over night so it will be a long while...at least you live close though!:)

Depending on what else you have-use coppersafe for most snails. MTS will require Botia or Schistura spp to rid your tank of them.

Although I suffer from MTS and have lots of MTS, I've managed to contain the snails in only two of my tanks - a 10g with red ramshorn snails, and a 30 g with ramshorns and the dreaded MTS.

You are not alone. I have a growing snail problem as well. Good luck with that. loaches are a good problem solver...I may go that route myself

one clown loach is all it takes and your tank will never have another snail. Give him about 1 week and you will have shells floating on the top of your water and when you vacuum your gravel you will get a ton of empty shells too. The clown loach will then eat flake food that falls to the bottom and if you want to treat them ever so often go buy a big snail from pet smart or whatever and they will be happy happy!
