Does anyone know where I can get a small group of Geophagus sp. "Tapajos Red Head" locally?

Someone sold severl decent sized ones at the auction. If they step forward, perhaps they have more.

I initially thought you were talking about spxsk's red head severums (http://www.dfwfishbox.com/forums/production/showthread.php?t=16131).

How many do you want? Make sure you put something else in with them to keep them from picking on each other. I have 2 giant danio, 3 silver dollars and a big pleco that needs to go cause I am sure he is eating the eggs. As adults they are beautiful.

I was thinking of 6. Is that too many....not enough??? I was hoping I would find some young ones local so I wouldn't have to ship.

Try Keller Farms then. I know they have some, but not sure if they are the EXACT species you are looking for. $20 each...

I have 6 or 7 they move around too fast and have too many hiding places. I got mine from Paul he was a local breeder, he quit after a power outage killed a bunch of his fish. For $20 each I would consider selling mine.
No more than 6 in my opion. K20z3 got rid of his cause they beat each other up so bad.
