Guys, my eight year old just earned a tank for her room and set it up today. The tank is a bit sparse, it still needs to have some kind of foreground plants and plant supplies and funds were limited for this build. We bought the basic setup (tank, stand, filter, etc) from craigslist. Overall I think she did quite well. Have a look.

Tank - 29G
Filter - Penguin 200 Biowheel
Heater - Marineland Stealth 100W
Light - Stock Florescent (with some experimental LED in second video)
Fish - 4 Platties, 1M 3F
Plants - Bunch of anacharis, banana plant, crypt spiralis, crypt wendtii (bronze), Java moss
Wood - Manzanite branch

It looks good.
But ya have to have a flash player to watch flv's.
So I don't know how many peeps on here are gonna be able to see it.

i believe plants would love the LED lights but the Stock lights look better as an aquarium.

This first cut at my LED lighting needs some tuning. Right now it is running only cool white LEDs, I will have to respin it with a string of warm white and manipulate the spacing to maximize coverage. I am hoping that the two colors together will provide decent/full spectrum for plant growth and give the fish a proper look.

For some reason, the fish reminded me of pretty little birds fluttering around a big cage. Very soothing!
