OK.. Yeah, I had the camera out today and snapped a few photos. I figured that I would post a few of them here to show their progress.

This is Ricco our Electric Blue was bought as a small juvie back in March of 09. He was one of the first fish to get dropped into the tank. He is growing up nicely.

This is my male Melanochromis Exasperatus.

We got him back in October and it was not long after we put him in that he mated with the female. We went away over Christmas and when we got back she was no longer holding. We started searching and found 5 fry in the tank. I have only been able to get a photo of one of them since they are in really good hiding spots.

You can just see this guy in the middle between the rocks. He stays there most of the time but has a path in the rocks he can use to get to the other side of the tank.

In this photo he moved out a bit when he saw me. He has already learned that I am the one with the food. :-)

Here is one of me Red Zebras, 'Al', eating some algae off a rock.

This is a photo of my female Red Zebra, Shirley, our Exasperatus, and Sunny the peacock on the left.

This is my male German Red... Actually, it's my wife's German Red, she has wanted one ever since she saw an adult one in a store. We did not want to pay for an adult one so we waited and bought a trio from Arnold. (well, that is his name here on FB.) We also have two females for him to provide attention to.

He is starting to get some of his color. He should be a great looking fish when he gets his colors really going.

I have a few more shots of the other fish in the tank but I was not happy with them. I may take a few more tomorrow and post them later.

My wife does that for me... She has really gotten into the fish and likes them just as much as I do.

Sadly her most favorite fish was killed last night and she is heart broken. We had Flame for just about a year. We did have him in a 20 gallon tank in the kitchen but I had to move him two days ago. He was the biggest fish in the tank and was really picking on the 4 yellow labs and the three new fish. To the point of them hiding all the time, showing signs of stress, and showing some damage (discolored lips from hitting the walls and decorations).

So I moved him to the big tank a few days ago. He showed some signs of being picked on on the first day but I kept a close eye on him and did not see anyone really picking on him the next day or so. He was fine when I turned out the light last night but we found him dead this morning.

She cried a bit and would not talk to me for a couple hours but we are doing better now.

Sorry to hear about that. It is so frustrating to lose a fish, especially a favorite one.:(

That's the tough part of having cichlids. They either get along or they don't and that can change day by day.
