This is what I consider to be one of the "good ones". So far, I pulled out 5 that look more like culls. That's $20 worth. There may be a couple more to come out.

I have a 75 that is severely over planted, with probably more fish than I should have. I have never had a problem, but then I have an aquatop pH 35 power head on the tank and it blows pretty hard.

Just got back from the auction...got up a 4 am to start bagging fish to leave by 6:30...so tired. Not a very large auction compared to some others and the turn out was pretty low but Houston had some serious rain and storms in the morning so that may have done some to keep people away.

Received my Media Reactors this past Friday and with these items, the components are complete. Took me a little bit of time, but was able to install all three of them. Currently, only running one of the reactors with carbon, but the other two I have is for backup. Running these units off my main pump and it has plenty of power to not slow down the flow to the main tank. Shooting for November 10th to purchase some Frontosas with the tank...

It would definitely help the fish. And you could set the timer to turn the air off a couple of hours before the lights come on. That way you would still get some build up of natural CO2, but not a whole night's worth. I considered doing this in my tank with the problem, but opted to use a little skimmer instead. It is an open top tank, and the skimmer keeps the water surface clean while giving some more flow.

what you have pictured is definitely a cull. it seems to look more like a tiger shrimp vs. a blue diamond. What do the rest of the group look like that you bought.

I don't want to blow out so much CO2 that the plants fail to thrive, but do you think an air pump on a timer would help?

I’ve got an assassin snail. If I find him, he’s all yours. I can’t keep him. He’s too powerful.

I've had a similar problem of fish (including Boeseman's rainbowfish) developing respiratory distress overnight in a heavily planted tank. I don't know if the pH was a factor, but when I increased water flow and aeration at night the problem was solved. The tank has a large fish population.

I figured out what killed my rainbowfish last night - australian. After eliminating all disease options I finally checked my pH. At the end of the day lights still on it was 7.0. I've added a lot of plants lately, They are really thriving in this tank. So plants take in CO2 and give off oxyten in light, but they give off CO2 in the darkness. No wonder the plants look great I put a little baking soda in (1/4 teaspoon in 55 gallons) they...

I have used baby food to make frozen fish food on several occasions, the problem I have run into is the fish are not crazy about it especially my plecos don't care for it. Bummer because it is so easy to make. - - - Updated - - - I used to order from Drs. Foster and Smith and was always pleased with them.

I have a number of HOT Magnum canisters ,I can see if they work, well I don't know if I have time to test, but a couple of those plus snails might make it worth your stop, even if you have to just pick up from porch because I am at work.

I bred this species by accident in a quarantine tank before they went into their permanent home. I had a group of 5 in a 15 gallon tank. They were in the 1 to 1.5" inch size range. None of the females looked gravid, and although I saw a little spawning behavior, I didn't think it would come to anything. After I moved them to their permanent home (a 75 like yours) I left the quarantine tank set up but with no other fish in it. A week or so...
