I used 128 grams of powder, mixed with water to fill a 16 fl oz container (so I could use 1 squirt per gallon). The container says 1gram/ 10 gallons
ClorAm-X
I want to create the same packets that can be mixed in the 16 fl oz container to equal 1 squirt per gallon...how many grams of powder? The container say's 1g treats 8.3gallons
Remember- I'm not mixing it with 16 fl oz of water, the powder takes up some space...
Gimmie a number or show me the method of calculation- please.
Or should I just do 150g bags and ASSume it's close enough?

let me get this straight...
128g in 16oz. = 1 squirt per gallon @ 1g/10gal
Xg in 16oz. = 1 squirt per gallon @ 1g/8.3gal
128 * 10 = 8.3 * X
1280 = 8.3X
1280 / 8.3 = 8.3X / 8.3
154.2168675 grams = X
is that your final answer? Looks reasonable- I was goin the wrong way on my guest-a-mation.
Skipps gunna love this one. :hehe:

I got 154.2 rounded to the tenth.

Yeah, I got 154.2168675 when I do it a different way...
1 gram A per 10 gal = 1.204819277 gram C per 10 gal
128 gram per squirt A = 154.2 gram per squirt C

The algebra is fine, except I'm confused about the grammage after you get the answer!
Here's what I use:
1/8 tsp for 5 gal
1/4 tsp for 10 gal
1/2 tsp for 20 gal
3/4 tsp for 30 gal
1 tsp for 40 gal
2 tsp for 80 gal
2 1/2 tsp for 100 gal
3 tsp for 120 gal

1 oz = 28.34952 grams = 2 tablespoons = 6 teaspoons
tablespoon = big
teaspoon = little
**************************
4.515021 oz = 128 grams = 9.02042 tablespoons = 27.06126 teaspoons
**************************
5.439189 oz = 154.2 grams = 10.87838 tablespoons = 32.63513 teaspoons

For reference, my dry Amqel+ says 1 tablespoon will treat 150 gallons of water. 1 cup (16 tablespoons) will treat 2,400 gallons and the entire can (1 kilo) will treat 10,000 gallons.

Yeah, they hand 'em out at the boarder. They look EXACTLY like a teaspoon, but DIFFERENT.

That's what I figured. Just have to know how many squirts equal 1 tablespoon to know that equals 150 gallons. 1 tablespoon in X oz of water = Y of squirts. If you get 200 squirts outta 16 oz, then 1 squirt = 200/150 = 0.75 gallons

Hmm... I missed your post Haiven. I just did the math on this and dry weight you are right.
I figured it out to be 9 cups in the tub, which treats ~18,278 gallons. Converted to teaspoons is 1tsp/42 gallons...
Now to figure out concentrated mix...:twitch:
Can we get a squirt conversion?! :D

5lb tub = ~ 9 cups
9 cups = 432 tsp
1 cup = 48 tsp
1 cup treats ~ 2030 gallons
1 cup = 8 fl oz
Prime bottle treats 2500g and is 8.5 fl oz
Prime dose = 5ml/50g
So how big is your squirt...:hehe: Compare your squirt to 5ml and you should come close....

LOL if y'all are lost on measurements & don't know how much you squirt, I've got a bunch of syringes I can give ya. Have a whole stash of them from the hospital. I use them for my water testing to get an accurate 5ml for the test & to thaw/feed frozen food cubes. Anything from 3ml to 60ml. I don't have any needles. LOL

uhmmm i go with the 40gl per tablespoon mix...
I get around 8 oz bottle and mix into it 240 gls worth of chlorimax...then just use a capful for every 10 gls... works for me... no problems...

Ok, so I mixed up the first batch of concentrate in the dispensing bottles. They are 32oz, with the math that I figured up above, I filled the bottle about 1/4 full with hot water, then used a funnel and put in 2 cups of Cloramax, then filled the rest with hot water.
The way I am figureing is 5ml for 42-50g. Since I am going to dose the whole tank everytime I am working on the 5ml/50g number.
So for my 215 with the sump safe number is 30ml but I think I could get away with 25.
These things are gonna come in handy for more than just cloramax too...;)
Good thing is, I don't have to calculate squirts....:hehe:
