Zucchini, yellow squash and kalabaza squash are all fine to give your mollies and guppies, mine also like cucumbers and have been know to give them bananas too.

I buy bags of salad greens for the family, and I'll pluck out one of the dark green leafies and put it in my 29 with a veggie clip. It's gone in a couple of hours. They scarf up spinach, zucchini slices, dark lettuce - I've even put blanched green beans in the veggie clip and had them disappear.

Anybody got any good ideas for a home-made veggie clip?

Rubberband the veggie to a rock, or pierce it with a fork and throw the fork in.

Thanks, Matt, but I do that. I am trying to figure out how to make a clip to place on the glass. My baby BN's seem to mainly stay on the glass and have ignored the zukes I put in with a fork. Oh, sorry for the hijack!

Rubberband it to a thermometer that has an attached suction cup, or to the intake tube for a filter.

I always rubberbanded it to a mag float 125. That way you could move it around to get closer to the plecos. Easy to move it to the bottom and to the top without getting your arms wet also.

Cheapskate. The store bought ones ain't that much.:p::p:
I usually DIY just about everything, but why reinvent the wheel?

Check the Dollar store for some plastic clothes pins or use a chip bag clip & silicone a suction cup to it.If you use a chip clip, you can drill a hole in it & pop the suction cup knob through the hole.

That's a great idea! I don't live near a LFS, so I was looking for something DIY!

Moved out of the Sump to the "Food" forum. Good info and suggestions, guys.

x2 with ET!
I had suction cups and a chip clip, so it was easier than going to the store :D and I got tired of fishing the forks back out. With a suction cup, I use a net to push it and the veggie down to BN level. When they've cleaned it out, I use the net to pull it back up. Of course that's in the 110 tall, thus the net
