New Guppies arriving soon

I am expecting 2 new trios and 12 pack of fry of Ribbon Fin White Albino guppies. I can't wait to see them :D This strain according to the breeder produces 60% Ribbons in most batches of fry. I have only seen Albino whites one time in person and they are a very beautiful guppy. I will share pictures when they arrive and settle in.

My Ribbon fin Albino whites arrived today all the way from San Francisco they look beautiful and healthy. I took a picture right after releasing them into thier new home, the white gravel takes away from them so I will be replace the white with black in a few weeks after they get settled in good and take more pictures against black so they show up better.

OK the Albinos are a challenge to get a picture of, I added black gravel and it helps show them better but the picture still does not do them justice. They are white but have a blueish / pinkish hue to them depending on how the light hits them and thier eyes are pink. Here is a picture I took today after adding black gravel to tank. I will keep working with taking a picture of them till I figure out what it is gonna take to get a truly good photo eventually.

I lost my long fin female :( I have always heard the Albinos are not as hardy as other strains and not recommended for a beginner .. I guess I will find out, I hardly ever lose a new fish so I am thinking these might be more of a challenge than just trying to get good photos of them.. Hope I can keep them alive and get a fry drop.

I am sorry to hear that you lost her :(. It happens. Do you have another long finned female? I hope the rest do fine, I am sure they will!

No she was the only long fin but the other one can throw longfin fry, I still have 10 of the 12 fry I bought along with the adults, I lost 2 of the fry also :( maybe some of those will have long fin females they are to young to tell right now.

Sorry to hear your female died Kym :( I have heard that too that the albino guppies are harder to keep. Good luck and hopefully the fry will grow and you will have the right combination.

Here is a picture of my Full Red guppy pair, she has already had 2 fry drops for me so I am getting alot of fry in the growout tanks. I just moved this pair into a 29 gallon tank this morning that I got from Drag13honda ( Matt) yesterday. Matt if you see this thread this is your old tank , it will soon be full of Red guppies:D

I still have the pair and all is well with them, my female has not had a fry drop yet. The fry I bought with the adults ..none made it :( I am not getting my hopes up to much with the Albinos.

You know, albino angelfish are hard to raise, too. I have nine of them. They grow slower than the others, and have shown NO INTEREST at all in pairing up with anyone and/or spawning.
