It's looking like I'll have some Thanksgiving baby CRS!

I have 5 females carring eggs right now and there should be baby red cherry shrimp bouncing round the tank in 28 days (give or take).

I'm about to change out the filtation to a more brcs friendly version, so I'll report back as soon as I see the first little one.

That is cool Andrew, I bought some from Just for Pets right before I left, I know a couple had eggs when I left but I have not had a chance to look yet...

Congrats....

Well unfortunily, the 2-3 year old, $350 digital camera we have won't take pictures of the tank they're in (they always come out blurry even when I use the tripod), but I have the solution to that problem hidden away until Christmas. If I can catch my wife outta the house for a while I'll see if I can snap some shots and put it back before she see it :hehe:.

I actually was looking at them yesterday and I found another one with eggs, so now I can't wait until I see some :baby2: swiming around :D.

When they overun your tank, give me a call. I'll take some from you.

Well I curtainly hope that's my problem in a few weeks :D. They're are currently 40+ shrimp in a 10 gallon and 6 of them are carrying eggs.

I hope someone around here wants a few or I might just have to get another tank :D

At last count there were 8 females carrying eggs.

Now I have some baby shrimp :D :baby2:

I'll do my best to get some pictures but it's hard enought to even see the large ones to say the least about the babies.

My current plan is to buy a 33 gallon and turn it into a CRS shrimp only tank.

You know 33g makes a big mess when tipped over....

Might make sure it is on a good stand. Sorry that was kinda mean...

That's ok... it is funny to those who do.

But only a few well know what you're talking about. :D

It's funny to me too (now at least :D).

I'm just hoping Christina doesn't think of that as I'm setting up the 33 ;)

I think I see babies but they are so small I cannot tell. Looks like tiny white dots jumping around very fast. Would that be what babies look like? Like water fleas that are microscopic?

The babies look exactly like the parents. But they're really small and also translucent.

They're very hards to see until they're a few weeks old and start to get some color to them.

Well the current plan is to get the 33 up and running, then get the shrimp (from my understanding most other people call them RCS - red cherry shrimp as CRSs are chrystal red shrimp, but I dunno) established and breeding and then start selling 'em after the second hatchlings are old enough. Kinna keep the stock there to readily replace any sold :D.

When I'm ready to start selling them, I'll start a FS (for sale) thread and fill orders in chronological order of reply posts. That way I'm not trying to remember to look here and in 10 other posts to know who wanted some and in which order :D. At that time I'll also set the price.
