I'm gonna get the spawn in the works. Hopefully I'll have fry on monday or tuesday. I introduced the pair last night and their was little or no agression at all, but I had a heating problem so we're starting over. So this should be one of the easiest spawns I've done. Gonna try to post pics of the spawning/fry growth if I can get the pictures to come out without being blurry. Wish me luck:)

Definately want to see pics of the little ones. I'm courious to see what baby bettas look like.

Oh, never, never, never start another post with a Rod Stewart song that I will have stuck in my head for weeks!!! http://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/extra3/icon_head222.gif

:) so I waited all night watching those little buggers hoping to catch them in the act, and then I gave up about 1AM and just decided to let nature take it's course. Woke up this morning, female is in the corner hiding behind the plant, and trouble's guarding a big nest of eggs like a madman. So sometime between one and nine some fishy freakiness happened, and evidently trouble didn't want it on tape!:wha:

Sorry, Didn't know it was the name of a Rod Stewart song! LOL I'd have ringing in my ears too. Actually what was playing was aerosmith's don't wanna miss a thing. Definite mood music :) Thanks again guys, I'll try to get a good pic of the babies when they hatch but they aren't much bigger than tiny dots for the first few weeks. There is a good betta growth in pictures chart on www.waynesthisandthat.com (http://www.waynesthisandthat.com) in his betta section.

Who has female bettas in the area? I have three amazing males and one female now, but I would like to get some females that are more colour suited to the mustard chocolate plakat and the mustard/red halfmoon. I also have a metallic green plakat. Who has the females?

Sorry, I don't do plakats and I think I'm the only betta breeder on this site. Halfmoons, all I am working with right now is blacks and blue marbles, probably going to get a purple project going in a couple of months. Your best bet is probably going to be aquabid.com. But for the plakats www.petfishstore.com (http://www.petfishstore.com) is having a big moving sale and he's letting fish go at unbelievable prices. The guy's name is Peter Tran and he's really nice, and he has free shipping on orders of over $30. Hope this helps. Jamie.

I just took a peek and he has some nice fish! Thanks! I do have one halfmoon male, do you have any females that you would be willing to sell, or do you know any other betta breeders locally? Halfmoon females really are my preference.

I won't have anything available for a few months. The only other breeder I know locally for halfmoons is top ranked IBC breeder Walden Nida. But now that the Texas Betta Society is no longer up and running I don't have a way to get in touch with him anymore and I don't think he has a website.
