Hey guys -- does anyone know where I can buy blackworms in the area other than at The True Percula in Arlington? They have horrible service there and the owner is a *beep*-head.... so......... I'd really like to take my business elsewhere, LOL!
Let me know. I dont need 1lb at a time roflmao

I will have to agree of your assessment of the owner of the True Percula. I don't know of anyplace else that sells them but some of the members here sometimes buy a pound and split it.
I have been extremely unhappy with the service, attitude, and prices at TP. I wanted so much to like it there. It's a beautiful store environment with so much potential. I don't think I've ever heard anymore than the stray comment about it being a wonderful fish resource; most people just hate it there for one reason or another. That's too bad too. There were a couple of employees that were super helpful and knew a lot about fish, and my friends and I kept going back regularly to do business with them, but after watching them get chewed out by management in front of the customers one too many times, I just quit going there. I'm also not paying their $4 a TABLESPOON for blackworms. On worms: you can order where we order from: http://aquaticfoods.com/Blackworms.html. We used to split orders but I'm using about a pound myself every month so I just order by myself now.
Take care,

Well, its nice to know I'm not the only one! lol.
But, yeah I don't go through the worms fast enough to order a lb at a time, and one lb is just way to many worms for me. Maybe I could split it with you oowl? 1/4 of the worms?
I ordered a lb before and it was just way too much, and most of the worms went to waste unfortunately :(
Yeah, we can do that, I think. We'll talk to Stan and see if we can get a regular group buy together for worms. (Anyone else in the north Fort Worth area interested?) I've found they'll last about 4-6 weeks in the fridge if you don't put them too thick in containers and if you rinse them frequently with really cold water (two to three times a day). My fish are so spoiled to them but they grow so incredibly fast it's hard not to keep giving them something they clearly enjoy that much and seems to be so good for them. I'm good on worms for a couple of weeks, then will need some again. Talk to you more about it when I see you tomorrow.

I can organize it as I have done for Oowl and Blake.
The only thing that I must ask is that when the worms are here, YOU NEED TO BE HERE to pick them up. The longer they are in the bag, the more chance that you'll lose a considerable amount of them.
I don't have enough room or container to keep rinsing them all until you pick them up. I had ordered a 3 lb and lost over 1 lb before in 2 days.

Count me in as I would like to try some. I am right on the west side of the airport so you are not far....

Why is everyone so far away? LOL! Or am I just out of the loop in the area? :p:

Well, just let me know. It'll probably go something like: worms --> to Oowl --> to me, LOL! :D
I'm up for a group buy anyhow, how much do you usually split it as?

Other than rinsing them 2 to 3 times daily and keeping them refrigerated is there anything special that needs to be done? I'm about to go buy some for my baby whale. I'm pretty sure he is eating the frozen 50/50 plus i have, but i know he will physically eat blackworms right in front of you, i just want to make sure i know he is getting something to eat for now. Are you supposed to drain as much water as you can when rinsing them or leave some in the container for them? Is tap water okay or does it need to be dechlorinated?
Sorry, this is my first time buying some.

i was told dechlor water -- half in. of water above them as they need to breathe. they live off their own body weight while in the fridge.
