I have a new 100g tank, 48x18x30.5. I think I'd like it to house a pair of blood red parrots. What would be suitable tankmates? I was hoping for a smaller, schooling fish, possibly some type of tetra or danio and a snowball (or similar sized) pleco. Would that work or would the parrots need larger tankmates?
If I went with only blood parrots, how many could I comfortably house together?

Blood parrots? 10-15...
You could do blood parrot and yellow lab mix. I have seen it a couple times and for a parrot tank it looks pretty cool.
Most smaller fish that can swim fast are fine. Parrots have a hard time eating other fish.

From experience I am going to respectfully disagree. The two blood parrots I had could suck down small feeder fish in a hurry! I wouldn't trust them with anything that could potentially fit in their mouth! :wha:

Im housing mine with Texas Cichlids right now. They bullied some of my smaller Geo's out of thier mind.. So I wouldn't put them with to small of fish.
