OK,the shrimp are moved, and Jenny took my black neons. So now I have a moderately planted 29g with 6 zebra danios, 2 redtail rasboras, a krib and a bristlenose. I sent the neons away because I'd like to add a couple of larger fish - all those one-inch top dwellers were getting visually lost.

One idea is long fin rosy barbs. I'm looking for 2 or 3 visually interesting fish, 3" or so in size, that would get along with what I've already got. Any suggestions? Any other dwarf cichlids you know of that would get along in that environment? The krib gets along fine, lots of bluster but no real aggression.

I don't have any experience with cichlids other than this one krib, so I don't even know if it's a good or bad idea to even consider.

What about rams? Some of what I've read says Bolivian rams, GBR's, and gold rams are pretty tolerant of other tankmates, and they sure are beautiful.

If you give the krib a cave on one side of the tank and the rams some rocks on the other side it might work. I had kribs awhile back and they were vicious, killed a lot of good fish during spawning. You might be okay though if you only have one. Do you know if it's a male or female?

I'm pretty sure it's a female.

What info I've seen on rainbows says they need a much bigger tank than I have. At any rate, Haiven needs to sell her rosy barbs, so if I can find someone to share the deal with me (I have no space for all of them), that's probably what I'll do. Maybe some time down the road I can try a tank of dwarf cichlids.

Interesting, I would have thought a bunch of males would be more aggressive.
