I have a couple zebras with a couple of amano shrimp and have never had a problem.

Do you want them to breed or just look nice together?
You will have a few babies survive but for the most part the danios will pick off the baby shrimp but should be fine with adults.

Shrimp should be left in their own tank, if you want to keep them happy and breeding. I lost all of my ghost shrimp in my community tank, don't know if they were eaten, aggravated to death, or got sucked into my XP3. I tried using a piece of women's tights over the intake, but it was too thick and clogged it up, so I removed it and afterwards they disappeared. I will check my filter this weekend to see if any made it there. I recommend using a sponge filter with them. Good luck!

I think I will end up doing a 10g shrimp only tank and that tank can provide we with adults for the 60g tank.

I put a couple of amano shrimp in a mixed tank. The krib went after them like crazy, and they disappeared. Turned out that like most of the rest of what she does, she's all bluster and no bite - when I rearranged the tank, I found them under rocks and driftwood, and even one hiding in the floating hornwort. I netted out all I could find and moved them to a different tank. Then I tore down the tank a few months later to move everyone to new quarters, and when everything else was out and I was down to the last bits of gravel and dirty water that I was about to hose out, I saw something moving in the mud. Lo and behold, another shrimp.
In other words, they are sneaky little scavengers with a good survival instinct, and the larger ones will hide away, making baby shrimp and cleaning up behind the fish. The real problem is that if you want to actually see them (and seeing is half the point with something as pretty as cherries), a tank full of hugry omnivores will drive them into hiding, so in the long run, you probably are better off with a nice planted 10g. Though once you have some good sized adults, you might want to consider a school of small fish to keep the population under control, unless you want to sell off the younguns.

Well they are ok with the Zebras in that you can see them some but they dont really come out on the open sand a lot. But I am thinking about changing over to Celestial Pearl Danios. They are smaller and more colorful. And being smaller I think maybe even less likely to eat or harass shrimp.
