I made some snail cookies for my nerites. I wanted to share the recipe because the snails gobble them up like little piggies.

Ingredients:
Packet unflavored gelatin
Powdered spirulina from the health food store
20 calcium supplement pills from Walmart
Dried daphnia
Flake food
Hot water - I used my tea kettle to keep it hot

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Smashed the calcium pills with the back of a big spoon then mix them with the dry ingredients. I just kind of guessed on measurements but I used more spirulina than anything - ended up with about half a cup of dry mixture.

Add a little bit of hot water to make the mixture into a cookie dough consistance and pop it in the microwave until it starts steaming, about 30 seconds. Add a little more hot water if needed and drop small spoonfuls onto a foil-lined cookie sheet - just like little cookies.

Pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. When they come out they don't look done but they are. Let them dry overnight. I made mine too big and somehow they got air bubbles in them so I ripped them into chunks.

They don't smell so tasty when they're cooking but it wasn't overwhelming. Cleanup was easy because they peel right off the foil. The centers didn't feel done when I was ripping them up but after they dried they turned out rubbery instead of rock hard. The end product looks like you put Oscar the Grouch through a chipper shredder but the snails don't seem to mind.
