Anybody have experience with these? I saw one and thought it was cool, but not sure if it would be a good addition in my tank. (135 with livebearers).
Thanks!

This one was at Plano Pets.
EDIT: Oops! Just noticed I had the fish in the wrong place... It's African, not Austrailian. http://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/extra3/nut.gif

DNA had some about a week ago... they looked really bad, really sick.
I just know they get really big and you need to have a good lid as I have read that they like to take strolls around the house but do not know how to get back in the water.

Yeah, I just Googled them once I figured out they are from Africa, not Austrailia. One article said about 3 feet long, jumper, and can eat my fishies. The one I saw was very active and personable. It would come to the front of the tank every time I looked in. But, I like the fishies I have now so he can go to another home.

Dunno, but they are cool!
I did find a suitable replacement though... DNA had a dojo loach that has a humpback and I couldn't resist giving the guy a home. David said they have had him a while and nobody wanted him because of his back. He scoots around just fine and seems very happy. Yeah, I'm a softie. http://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/extra3/flowerred.gif

Ropefish are not blind.... They do have a very inproved sense of small but they use the protruding nostrils for this not their tongue.
They become more active if you have a small group of them. I have 3 and they are very peaceful and stay real slender so only the smallest and slowest fish would be at risk.
I have a total of 28 Bichirs so I have to agree they are great fish but they need a fully enclosed tank or they will jump as well.
Here are a couple shots of mine.
