DIY Prepackaged fish meals or Fish Tank MRE's

Ok one of the benefits of working in a hospital is having access to all kinds of random crap. Well I found a new useful item courtesy of my friends in the pharmacy. They make all of their owns blister packaged pills & don't use the larger blister packs that often. These are about an half ounce in size. So I brought some home an prepacked all my dry foods for feedings in them. I combined micro pellets, BS flakes, Cichlid Crisps & even algae wafers, all premeasured & ready to go. No more digging out 3 or four cans of food & measuring for each.

Now if I'm ever out of town, My wife can successfully feed my fish without overfeeding them.

That's a great idea. You could probably use those with homemade food that needs to be frozen.

I prep MREs like that when I go out of town, except I use mini ziploc bags that are about 1 inch by 2 inches that I got at Michaels. They have several small sizes - I think they're in the jewelry parts section.

I never called them MREs before - I like that.

Oh I want some if you find a place to get them...

I had been using weekly pill box's for out of town trips.

But I do like this idea for frozen meals. Buy the flat pack cheaper and load them up in these....

That's a great idea. You could probably use those with homemade food that needs to be frozen.

What a fantastic idea! I usually use medicine cups when I leave, but that is so much more convenient and cannot be spilled! Also a good idea using the pill reminder box, I have extras that I could use.

That's a great idea!! It would totally prevent someone dumping a whole can of fish food into your tank. I had been using plastic bags but then the food would get stuck to the sides. This seems like it'd work a lot better.

That is a great idea! I can trust just about anyone to my tanks with something like that.
