Just dropping a line to say it is good to have a forum in our (though extended for me) community.
I am pretty new to the fish business.
Kinda got thrown into it actually.
Some friends of the family gave us 3 aquariums.
1 55g with assorted community fish.
1 30g with a full grown Jack Dempsey.
1 20 g with a full grown Oscar.
We gave away the 20g and the Oscar.
We have since upgraded to another 55g for the Dempsey. And sold the 30g.
So as of now we have 2 55g with community fish in one and the Dempsey and a Chocolate Chip Pleco in the other.
We are hoping to upgrade the Dempsey's tank to at least a 100g eventually.
Any suggestions on tankmates?
Keep in mind he is already an adult.
Anyways, kinda just introducing myself and our fish.
Hope to have fun and learn alot here.

Welcome Whitt! Nice to have you here! What area of town do you live?
Whitt is a town about 20 miles NW of Weatherford.
If you sneezed driving through you would miss it.
But I like it. Nice place to raise our 2 kids.
Everyone for about a 10 mile radius knows everyone else.
Then for about another 20 miles if you don't know them, you know someone who does.
We were initially going to get rid of the Dempsey as well, but my wife fell in love with "Pucker" as she calls him. When she discovered she could hand feed him he became "ours".
Mine is very passive as well. I have seen him habitate with feeders for 2-3 days before finally going after them.
Thanks for the nice welcome and kind words.:)

Hey there greeneyed and welcome to the site. I was born and raised in Mineral Wells (actually Salesville about 10 miles Soutwest of Whitt ;)), so I know exactly where Whitt is (P.S. did they ever change out that non-blinking yellow light so that it'd start blinking again at 1885 and 52?).
What all do you have in your community tank?

I know Salesville very well.
Actually they have a blinking red light now.
Even 281 has to stop.
In the community tank we have a couple of Silver Dollars. 3 Rosy Barbs. A couple of Corys, a VERY large Pleco (13") at least. A red Eyed Tetra. A Raphael Catfish. 2 Chinese Algae Eaters. These are what was in the tank when it was given to us. Everyone seems to get along ok, so we haven't messed with them.

Wow, that must cause all kinds of traffic jams, like 2 or 3 cars and a tractor at a time
