I put a bristlenose in my planted tank and I suspect he is stripping the leaves of my amazon sword plant. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Is the tank completely clean? Does he have more work to do or has he done his job? Give him some food. Only time I have seen them go after the plants is when they don't have anything else to eat. Just my two cents.

My husband has been feeding the fish a lot because I just started a new job, so he hasn't been getting his algae disks regularly, I will make sure he gets one everyday and see if that helps. Thanks.

Some of my snails get a little too happy about cleaning algae and end up cleaning leaves right off the plant. At least, I hope that's why...

Put some lettuce or cucumbers in the tank for them.

I just got one to help control my alge problem, I hope he doesn't eat my plants.

i have never seen my bristlenose destroy any plants, i have usually found the culprit to be another fish.

I've heard of plecos munching on plants from time to time. Mine 9"er was lazy and won't eat anything that didn't come outta a fast food restaurant bag (algae wafers or cucumbers, lol).

Definitely sounds like he's just hungry. Most plecos require some wood fiber in their diet, so if you don't have any driftwood I'd recommend at least a small piece eventually.
