I have had 3 fish (2 mollies and a small pleco) in the past week or so who have blown up like balloons. All in the same tank, the water prams are fine, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0 and Nitrates are 10ish.

The tank is getting weekly water changes.

I am feeding them a couple different flake types from Kens.

I am guessing it is bloat, any recommendations? I have 2 more fish who look like they are starting to blow up. From what I have read it sounds like quality food and clean tank are the best 2 treatments. I thought Kens was supposed to be alright food. I guess I am going to start more water changes on this tank.

The pleco was really red around the gills, the mollies scales were popped out and flaking off around the time they died.

definatly bloat....90percent death rate... epsom salt and try some maracyn helps its anti-fungal no idea why it would hit. i've read stuff about bad food causing it...did you try any of that free ken's stuff? they might just give away old product.....

hmmm......also a broad spectrum anti-biotic might help. But liker I said 90 percent death ratio..Think it was the food??

good question.....i read epsom salt as a treatment... but they could have meant aq. salt. the salt supposedly helps with the internal water transfer stuff, its supposed to help "thin" out the water in the fish, but dont quote me on that

Gee, Blake! You are having a rough time with it with your fish! I am sorry, and I also hope you can figure out what caused the bloat.Good luck!

NO, It is epsom salt. Apparently it draws the fluid out and is also good for pop-eye.

I have a ram that is doing this and I am doing amracyn and anti biotic food.

I am gonna throw the crappy fish away and replace them with the Trifasciatas.... at least they don't get sick they make babies....

I do not see anyone who is looking sick today. I am going to do a big water change tonight. Going with daily water changes for a little while.... what a PITA....
