Hmmm - Noticed the female of my only pair is not eating and just staying in one place (normally where they guard). She looks very healthy except I did notice that her tummy looks larger. Haven't really noticed before whether she looks this way before spawning or if she might be constipated (hopefully not dropsy). The male is not guarding the territory or her quite as aggressively as usual -- he is swimming out front more.
Any suggestions or ideas.

Cooked & de-hulled peas are good for constipation. Fresh pressed garlic mixed with their food is a good appetite enhancer as well as good for eradication some internal parasites. Might add a bit of epsom salt as well.
Keep an eye on her & increase the frequency on the water changes.

Appreciate it -- will try peas tomorrow -- did water change this evening.
The male is guarding her more this evening -- she is about he same.
Hoping it's just constipation or a bunch of eggs.
Somewhere I read something about an epsom salt bath -- but I don't know about that one.
I'll wait & watch
