BABIES!

So, the light in my brevis tank burned out and i had not replaced the light yet. Little dark never hurts right? haha, that and I just hadn't been to town to get another light. I'm bad i know. So, I replaced the light tonight, and just for grins was searching around the tank and looking at my little buddies that I missed, and there they were! Tiny little fry swimming around at the bottom of tank! I was so excited, I needed to share. I fed them and they ate and they seem to be doing well. Tried to count them, but they were moving around too much eating. Super cute little guys. These is my first successful spawn from any fish I have owned, so sorry had to share. :hehe:

haha, thanks! I know I may be a little too excited, but I'm just glad that I have them! Tired of my angels eating their eggs before I can get to them.

They are growing fast. I have about 20 that have made it so far at my last count

A first spawn is always a big deal :) I checked on my betta and his eggs every hour on the hour until they hatched the first time I spawned my own. He would give me this look like UGH! Woman! Either help or go away! Congrats!

I will get some up. Not sure how big they need to be before they go, but they are growing like weeds. Many twice the size of others, probably males. I have a full grown female as well that I will be selling if you are interested. She is in the tank as well, but is run into a corner most of the time by mom and dad.

kewlkatdady, here is a pic of mom, not a great angle though. I could not find a good pic of dad and I have some pics of them together, but I have to find my batt chagrer for my camera or some more batteries and upload them. This is her guarding the entrace to her shell that you can't see because she buried it. Dad often cleans out the sand that has fallen into it for her, good housewife. lol

Lellison I went to a LFS the other day to help a friend get into the hobby and I couldn't help but buy a pair of brevis there. Maybe we can make a trade some juvies in the future when mine start breeding... that way we dont get any deformed kids.

Laura are you going to the show? We can put some in one of my rental tanks and sell them out of that. 80/20 split you get 80 on whatever is sold and i'll take the rest to my store.

The rental tanks cost me $15 a piece and I have 6 of them. Let me know if you are planning on attending and we can try to get rid of them there.
