What do you think is the best food for cichlids?

I have tried a couple of foods for my cichlids and they are coloring up well. Right now I am using top fin. I was just wondering if there was another food out there that is better.:confused:

Oh heck yeah, try dianichi color supreme or color f/x and ultima. I also use tetrapro. And if you have seen any of my pics, the fish color will speak for itself.

Tetramin pro just about anywhere, dainichi is a fish store deal or go to dainichi.com or look on aquabid for it as well. I get it at live auctions as well.

Before the last 2 bags of Dianichi color fx, supreme I had NLS (new life spectrum) also good stuff.

I'll get on the Dianichi band wagon...
I also feed spirulina, frozen brine shrimp, beef heart and omega one cichlid flakes

I think a good variety help fight bloat.

I am so glad someone asked this question, as I have been meaning to. Since I don't have a LFS, I buy Wardley Essentials Cichlid Flakes at Wal-mart because I have a hard time with my cichlids eating pellets. I have bought many types of cichlid pellets, and other than HBH super-soft spirulina pellets, they just won't hardly touch them and I had too much waste. I always felt I needed to buy something more superior, but did not know what to buy. Are any of the dainichi's cichlid food flakes? It appears from what I have read so far that all they have is pellets. Is there a superior type flake food that ya can recommend? I really hate flake food as it messes up their water more, so if anyone has ideas about getting them to eat pellet food, I would love to know. I also have 4 danios in my 50 gal.,so need food they can eat too. They refuse to go after the pellets. Help!

No flake from dainichi. Look on ebay for flake. There is a guy that sells HBH flake by the pound and I used that for a long time and had no problems. Tetramin pro! Not the crisps, but Pro. It is in a blue can with a yellow lid. Great food but DO NOT OVER FEED it will kill your fish. Sounds funny but, I love that flake, and once again I refer to my pics posted here to back it up. Dainichi three times a day and pro once.

I think I used to use the Tetramin crisps. I liked it because it wasn't as messy as the flakes, but I cannot find it at my local Wally World anymore. I will check out the Tetramin Pro, thanks! Anyone else have any ideas?
