Why does the forum time me out if I am on the same screen for more than 30 seconds. I constantly have to keep logging back in?!?! Its most irritating....:mad:

May have something to do with your cookies. Also do you have the keep me logged in option checked?

Same thing was happening to me. Check the "keep me logged in" option box and it doesn't happen. (I think it's the admin's way of messing with us. http://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/extra3/think.gif)

I can't find that option. All I have is the "remember me" box. where is the "keep me logged in" box located?

I've never had it "log" me out and I've had the site sitting for hours without any activity before.

no it is still doing it. if i sit on an idle screen for more than 30 seconds or a minute i have to log back into the forum...

Hmmm it might be a browser setting or something.

Which browser do you use?

Did you check the settings in the User CP?

i dont have an option in the user CP.... unless I am missing something. I use Explorer, its a work computer though. might have something to do with that.

I looked through the User CP and didn't see anything, so I'm assuming it's something to do with a setting at work.

There might be some sort of "timeout" implemented to help free up bandwidth.

It isn't a setting of ours, it is likely a setting at work and it would be through your cookies. Cookies are what is stored on your computer to keep you logged in and keeps info for faster browsing.

I don't recall exactly what the box says, but it's the one that you can check when you log in. Check it and the problem should be resolved... Unless Andrew broke it at which point you're pretty well screwed. :D

I'd almost bet it's some sort of local (meaning the computer you're on) setting.

Do you have admin rights on that computer?
