A member here gave me some plant cuttings when I got the female betta from her. This plant has done so very well. It was about 3 inches tall when she gave it to me and it is growing like a weed in my 29g fry tank.
It is veined and shows color of pink on the new leaves at the top. Does anyone know the name of this plant? I havent seen it in the LFS yet.

Looks like sunset hygrophila

That would fit the plant, since it gets the pink hues at the top of it.

yes, depending on lighting etc, will show different colors. Les light, greenish to pinkish while high light will give it deeper reds.

Your plant looks good though

I have some in the 75 gallon under 260 watts that looks like it is struggling, but the couple sprigs I put in my 10 gallon with a stock light fixture are thriving.

Mine is in my 29g juvie tank and its the same flouresent bulb that came with the tank lid. It isnt real bright in the tank, but the plants in that tank seem to be thriving. My substrate is just gravel.

Here is a pic of it on Dec 16th .. the plant on the left front ..2253

Here it is on or around Feb 5th .. the plant on the left front.. 2254

I looked for it at DNA last night, none, and then ask one of the workers about it and he said he could look into ordering it with their orders. I told him a lot of people liked it.

Yeah, I have some too and love it!!!

I believe it was sent to me as Hygro Poly (plant's name is Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' a.k.a. Hygro Sunset & Tropic Sunset).

Awesome plant and very pretty.
