I was given 2 tanks.. they are very small only about 3 gallons each and they hang on the wall. They have a submersible filter.

I have a 55 gallon freshwater community tank and a 75 gallon fresswater cichlid tank. I was thinking about stepping out of the box a little. Maybe a small saltwater in one and experimenting with live plants in the other...?

Anybody have and tips? I have never dealt with a tank this small and don't really know what kind of fish are suited for it. Oh, and I do not want goldfish or guppies.. at all.

The website of the company that makes them is www.aussieaquariums.com (http://www.aussieaquariums.com) .. i have the mini and the porthole... they are nice tanks!

I wouldn't recomend going with SW for a small tank like that, planted would definetly be a good option though

if you wanted to do a saltwater 3 gallon i would recommend some live rock, a couple good looking coral, one starfish or a crab and one other fish. a three gallon can't support much marine life at all. you can make it look great, but you won't see much movement.
