Well, at the "request" of a few people, I finally signed up here. I've already started posting, but figured I'd do an official "I'm here" post. I'm actually not much of a fish person, but I enjoy the plants alot since I can't seem to grow anything on the patio, but I can keep a lush aquarium or 3. I've even convinced jaglover that the plants are very good for the fish, so she continues to let me pack plants into the tanks :D

I'm still in search of plants that I like that the Angels don't decide need to be removed from their tank. Currently, only large swords seem to meet their approval, but that tends to leave the bottom of the tank rather vacant. Anubias are too slow growing for that tank, so I'm searching for something that will thrive in the shade of the swords and meet the approval of the fish-turned-interior-decorators and having little success.

your angels mess with your plants??

If they don't like them, they pull them up. They don't eat them, they just decide they need to be moved and go about doing it however they can manage. This is a problem with plants whose leaves are too small for them to swim between. I guess they figure it limits their space, so they try to get rid of the clutter.

Actually, almost every group of fish we've had in that tank has decided that they deserve a say in the plants. The clown loaches were the worst - they would entirely redecorate the bottom of the tank on a fairly regular basis. I'm thinking they're the ones that taught the angels this wonderful "trick."

Yeah, my pleco (10") and pictus catfish (5") move stuff around all the time.

I thought I had them in an acceptable location, but found one of the fake plants floating around the other day :).
