View Full Version : bulk foods??
if you are buying your foods in bulk then you need to pick up a Reynolds Hand Vac (http://www.reynoldspkg.com/reynoldskitchens/handi_vac/en/product.asp?cat_id=1337&prod_id=3918) and some bags.... I got one for christmas and it works like a professional sealer making your bags seal air tight........

When it is pulling the air out of the bag does it pull the stuff that is in there out?
I would think the ferts would be a good test.
Could you screw it up if you sucked up too much flake or something like that?

Just curious.... I have never seen one actually in operation so I do not know it was just something I was thinking about.

Nope once you clamp down the lid it keeps it from sucking anything through there, except the occasional liquid from doing meat or something.
We use ours daily for everything from bags of chips to cereal. Repackage all the meat we buy and you can buy in bulk and seal it up in portion sizes.
Definitely worth the $100

i did a bag today of some finely ground spurlina/shrimp powder and it didnt suck any of it out, the suction makes it almost like a solid brick with powders and you can tell when the air pump is winding down and cant go any farther...plus they are only like 7 dollars so if you did screw it up its easily replaceable from the grocery store....
sap added 19 Minutes and 8 Seconds later...
mine cost less than 20 with bags

I am going to have to try it out.
Something else to waste money on.
