Ok so I have an extra 30g tank (:hehe:). I'm going to attempt to breed/hatch Brine Shrimp and Ghost Shrimp. This is just for feeding them (My Fish). Anyone know much about these ? I've heard that the Brine hatcherys suck hardcore so I be using my own DIY hatchery. Can ghost shrimp and brine live together ?

I would thnk that the ghost would eat the brine shrimp as food......and i have been told to raise ghost shrimp you would need a large container like a 12ft diameter kiddie pool

Really ... Damn that's big. Then... more research it is. Do you feel if I breed My own feeder fish it could still cause a higher chance of HITH ?

Well I have a extra 30g set up ready to go. I was thinking Reds, Some form of shrimp was the plan. But I can breed fish I just don't want it to be harmful to my oscars (HITH).

If you're wanting to breed shrimp for food, I'd recommend going with some cherry or any of the other small, cheap algae shrimp.

HITH sounds like you're feeding Oscars, so using your 30 for shrimp and guppies (guppies stay small enough they won't eat the baby shrimp) should be fairly simple and cheap.

I'd recommend leaving the 30 with bare bottom and no decor, unless it's in the living room or something, then tossing in some moss balls and some potted plants and some floating plants. Make sure you cover the filter's intake with some sponge/foam to keep the babies (fish and shrimp) from getting sucked up, or even use a sponge filter.

This will give the shrimp and fry some cover for hiding, plus it should lead it's way to you having plenty of food on hand 24/7. It might take a few months to get the 30 gallon up and running so that it's providing enough food for the predator fish (and depending on how many you're trying to feed), but 3-6 months down the road you should have plenty to feed with little effort or cost.
