My name is Kenny... I live in Keller. I am surprised I never knew about this site before. I've had a few 100 gallon tanks over the years and recently purchased a 55 gallon tank from someone via a craigslist ad. While talking to the seller she told me about this site. So here I am.
I can't think of her member name now...
Are there any other places to buy fish close to Keller other than Keller Farms?
Right now I have the following in my 55g tank:
1 Blue Crawfish
1 Striped Peacock Eel
2 Silver Tip Sharks
1 Yellow Lab
1 Cichlid (not sure of exact name, bright orange color)
2 Cichlids (not sure of exact name, light blue)
1 Plecos
1 Clown Loach
20 Ghost Shrimp... I think I may be down to 5 now.

Hiyas, and welcome!
Wish I could help you more, really the only other fish place I know of over there is True Percula ... but I think it's in Arlington (?)
:confuzeld: Keller's way out of my range. Elijah Turtle will have a better idea of what's over there 'cause he lives right next to Keller.

Welcome... As far as a better place than keller farms theres not many really atleast nothing close to you thats your best bet.. as far as prices go they are a little high.. you will be surprised what fish and prices you can get them for on here!
I got 7 Frontosa 4 Moori Dolphins and 2 Reefs for 200 on here.. so post what kind of fish you want and see what happens..
Edit: Yes True Percula is kinda good about the same prices as KF but KF has more fish to choose from alot of TP good fish isnt even for sale...

Hey welcome to the box. I'm right around the corner in Watauga. I'm still new to the area, but there is another fish store not far from Keller Farms. It's a small hole in the wall shop. Fish were pretty standard as far as selection goes, but they all seemed pretty healthy the las time I was there. I'll try to find the name & addy for ya.
ElijahTurtle added 5 Minutes and 18 Seconds later...
Here it is:
Pet World - 2700 Carson St, Haltom City, TX
Rift2Reef is worth the drive to Lewisville if your looking for nice cichlids.

Welcome to the site!
I live just south of you and would highly recommend The Fish Place right near Ridgmar Mall (on the North end of the parking lot). Awesome store with tons of products and LOTS of awesome quality fish. You wouldn't be disappointed, promise.

I will try to get some pictures up soon... I've lost the eel I had in the tank.. Some how he managed to jump in to the filter and got caught up in there.
He had been attempting an escape for awhile, I had to put items over the cover because he was jumping up. He was only about 6" long.
The blue crayfish has also been trying to escape, but he is cool to have in the tank.

Yeah the eels, crabs, any of the "minnow" family, etc. all try to escape constantly. Hard to find a way to allow good aeration and to keep the tank escape proof at the same time. I purchased a new glass hood set for my 55 a while back (IIRC $30 at Petsmart) when I had red crabs in the tank and it would have worked flawlessly if I would have had a canister filter instead of an HOB filter. You might look into that option if you want to add another eel.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone has told you yet, but the blue crayfish will get HUGE and eventually eat anything in the tank it can catch :D. Might wanna have a backup plan for housing it in it's own tank or finding someone that can adopt him/her once it's out grown the 55. I think a 20-30 gallon is plenty for one blue cray, though I could be mistaken.

Yeah so far the crayfish gets a long well with others. He likes eating the algae wafers.
