I've read and heard that they like densely planted tanks with open areas so I've been looking around and trying to stay as close as possible to it's natural habitat.

Anybody know if Microsword and stargrass are good plants? Duckweed was also suggested but that's a floating plant...what do you think? Any others you'd suggest?

Thanks

Microsword is supposed to be fairly undemanding. Star grass from what I remember needs lots o light. Duckweed is supposed to be a bad plant to have if you want to grow anything else. It will take over the entire top of your tank and almost impossible ot get rid of.

Microsword - Lilaeopsis brasiliensis (http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=144)
Mircosword - Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae (I would recommend this one) (http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=253)

Stargrass - Heteranthera zosterifolia (http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=123)

Duckweed - Lemna minor (http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=143)

I didn''t get a single one of the ones I asked about, lol.

I had Webster at DNA helping and he was suggesting things left and right. I love that guy...he's great! We went in there for Eco-Complete and a few plants...walked out with two bags of EC and 6 plants (they gave us a deal at $2.99 per plant and one for free).

Sadly, I can only remember the name of one of them...

I'm great at pointing and saying "that one". But names? :confuzeld:

I have a variety of duckweed- it's got a larger leaf and longer roots- it's growing much slower than duckweed I've had in the pest. I also paid a pretty penny for it (Boutique in Garland)...like $6 for 2 pods.

It's now multiplied and I've put it in a couple tanks. I like it a lot.

If you want some, let me know. Glad to share.

I dunno- whatcha want for sticky... :D

Otherwise, no charge[guilt trip]- I'll give you 5-6 pods and you can grow it from there.
