First up is some new pics of my Vieja synspilum. I got these guys early last summer, they were about 1/2 an inch long back then. There were 25 originaly that were given to me for my expense in gas to get to the guys house. The dom male is about 6 inches long now, with the rest are from 3 inches to around 6 in size now.

I want a big tank so I can have big fish like that! I only have one big fish, my melanochromis cyan, who is about 5 -6 inches long. Cool fish, Mongo! Quit being a night-owl like me and get some sleep, lol!

Andrew, that is my longest living fish. Its a Synodontis eupterus that I have had for about 12 years now. He is approximately 10 inches long and has been named "Jaws" by the Mongolings.

ETXRN, I have to be a night owl...its the only time the house is quiet and I can get anything done on the computer.:rolleyes:

Thanx for the complimants everyone.

"Mongolings" :rofl:

Very nice... you have any pics of it in the bottom dweller's section?

I definitely understand having to wait until it's somewhat late to get anything done :D

Joey, their hobby names are "Fire Head Cichld" and the "Quetzal Cichlid". The name quetzal comes from the Aztecs, they had a feathered serpent weather god named Quetzalcoatl. I think that is part of what drew me to this species. "Quetzal" is the name of one of the "bird of paradise" species, and "coatl" is Aztec for serpent. Sorry for the mythology lesson, I just think its cool.

Those are turning out very nice!! They are starting to look like their brothers!! Nice!! Were those big fish what you was offer me and my brother to take of your hands at one point? Glad I didn't get them. They look like tank busters! Couldn't imagine how big they would be by now in a 135.
