My dad and I built this stand out of solid oak for their 55. What do ya'll think? We are toying with the idea of building and selling custom stands for people. What would be a fair price that we could charge for something like this? We were thinking $350 to $400. We are still going to build a canapy for it later.

Very nice! Are those actual drawers or for appearance? If they are actual, excellent idea!
I have no idea what you could get for the stand. They are expensive so I'd say you're in the ballpark.

x 2. $350 seems reasonable for a custom stand, but maybe Jerod, Blake, or someone else would really know.

They are actually drawers, I didn't know if I would like it at first but now I dont know how we could have lived without them. I want to add drawers to all of my stands now.

Selling them to a LFS would be a problem at $300-350
You might be ok on the open market.

Looks very nice. Your dad a cabinet guy?
My 75 has drawers and I love um. I thought about putting them on the 215 stand I built but didn't have the space.

VERY nice...
I'd say that in order to sell them to fish stores, y4u're prolly a little high....
but as stated before, on the open market you are right inline with pricing.
I built and sold a canopy for a friend of mine... it was a 105 (48x18) I told him I'd do it for cost of supplies and a 12 pack. Ended up costing him around $80-$90 including a mounted 48" shop light.
But I used high end hinges instead of a piano hinge which cost about $15 for 2 hinges. I had to get a special drill bit to recess the hinges which was around $8.
But his top with the nice hinges closes much better than mine with a piano hinge... It was well worth the extra few dollars in the long run.

I don't want to sell these at LFS, I would rather know the person we are building them for and be able to make it custom to what they want.
That is about what it cost us to build our stand, we used the spring loaded hinges that take a special cut hole in the cabinet door and you cannot see them from the outside, they are very nice, but expensive.
My dad is a cabinet maker on the side, and has all the tools to make pretty much anything you can imagine. Nothing makes wood working better than a few beers!
VERY nice...

i can't drink when im working with blades...
I do other mind relaxing things that help me stay focused...
Anyway... the right tool make wood working very addictive... your very lucky.
The stand looks better than the ones sold commercially!
Could you explain or post pictures of the inside?
What material was used for the support?
