There are teeny tiny little white specks all over the glass of my tank..what the heck is it?? :confused: :confuzeld:

not really, just little white dots on the glass, and I'm pretty sure they weren't there yesterday. and they're ALL over the glass.

I had little hair like things stuck all over the glass one time, my HOB filter threw up. It looked weird though, they were all over but they were evenly spaced apart and they subtly changed direction,:confused:

its funny you say that because it does kinda look like theres stuff coming from the filter. i added a bag of peat yesterday during the water change..could this be the reason? i HOPE and PRAY it doesnt bother my fish.

I've had it, too, a couple of times, but only in one tank, the one with the misfunctioning canister filter. It's something that's alive and kinda webs itself together and gets larger as time passes.

Someone solve this for us!

i went down and looked at them again and they do seem to be moving in the current. seriously what the heck are they?

Retracted Hyrda? My best guess would be planaria though.

could just be tiny air bubbles, i get them some time. Also, if you use crushed coral for substrate, sometime the fish will stir it up and you will get white specs on the glass.

I don't think I've come across this before, but from what I'm reading on the net it sounds like deposits or worms (maybe worms from the peat?). Not sure though!

wow, that picture at the link is not attractive. What you are all describing sounds like something I found on my glass when I set up my shellie tank. They just kinda went away though. No idea.

they don't have any hairs on them, and i'm pretty sure they arent worms because they don't move from the spot that "it's" in. they kinda look like little bubbles attached to the glass.
